Our History

A Health Research Council Repatriation Fellowship enabled Philippa Gander to return to New Zealand and establish the Sleep/Wake Research Centre in 1998 at Otago University School of Medicine, Wellington.  In 2003, the Centre moved to Massey University, where it has thrived and is now part of the School of Health Sciences in the College of Health.  The Centre is New Zealand’s first research group dedicated to research and education in circadian physiology, sleep science, and their applications.
