Dee is a Research Officer at the Sleep/Wake Research Centre, with a background in occupational therapy. She completed her Master of Public Health thesis on the sleep patterns of school-aged children within the family environment and her PhD on social determinants of preschoolers’ sleep health in Aotearoa, using a mixed methods study design. Dee was awarded a Lottery Health Research postdoctoral fellowship to investigate the impact of sleep on ethnic inequities in child and adolescent mental health.

While she has been involved in a range of community-, laboratory- and industry-based studies, Dee’s primary research focus is child and adolescent sleep health, sleep health inequities and the role of sleep in child and adolescent health inequities.
