Margo is a Senior Lecturer at the Sleep/Wake Research Centre with 25+ years of research experience. She joined the Sleep/Wake Research Centre after completing a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology at Victoria University of Wellington, and at the same time gained shift work experience as a Sleep Technician at Otago University’s WellSleep clinic.

Margo’s research portfolio focuses on the causes and consequences of workplace fatigue and the management of fatigue risk, particularly in aviation. Most of her research is conducted in operational settings and in collaboration with industry.

She also supervises postgraduate students, coordinates the Bachelor of Health Science course ‘Principles and Practice of Epidemiology’, and teaches in the undergraduate course ‘Research Methods in the Health Sciences’ and the Master of Public Health course ‘Epidemiology and Biostatistics’.
